The 2015 Moët British Independent Film Awards were held last night at a swanky looking event in London, with Alex Garland’s fabulous AI treat Ex Machina coming out the big winner.
The sci-fi film scooped four awards: Best Director, Best Screenplay, Outstanding Achievement in Craft (Andrew Whitehurst for visual effects), and Best Independent British Film.
Other winners on the night included Tom Hardy for his dynamic double performance as the notorious Kray twins in Legend and Saoirse Ronan’s incredibly nuanced portrayal of Irish immigrant Eilis in John Crowley’s Brooklyn.

At a recent press conference, Star Wars producer Kathleen Kennedy – to the sheer delight of the on-watching audience – stated “Jar Jar is definitely not in the movie”.
Anyways, the greatly anticipated seventh chapter of the space franchise is now only two weeks away – with it hitting UK shores on the 17th December and America (and the rest of the world) a day later.
