News: Barbara Streisand to direct again & lots and lots of trailers

Barbara Streisand is to direct her first feature film in nearly twenty years with historical epic Catherine the Great.

The Oscar-winning star’s last directorial gig came in 1996 when she helmed the romance flick The Mirror Has Two Faces.

Streisand became the first woman to direct, write, produce and star in a major studio feature with her critically acclaimed adaptation of Yentel in 1983 – going on to become the first female director to win a Golden Globe for her work on the film.

Reports claim casting is under way, with Kristina Lauren Anderson (Life of Pi, The Blind Side) having penned the script.

It feels like the internet has gone trailer crazy over the past week or so, what with certain big budget franchises sending the web into overdrive with posting new footage.

So it feels right to have a bit of a run down of recent trailer action if you’ve missed any – and who could blame you, there’s been so many!

Last week Robert Downey Jr and Chris Evans introduced the first trailer for Captain American: Civil War on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and this Wednesday we were given a second look at next year’s crazy looking Batman v Superman – with added Super Woman.

If they don’t take your fancy, some other big trailers have dropped recently…

Want to see Loki sing? Tom Hiddleston stars as folk legend Hank Williams in the first look at biopic I Saw The Light.

The Kevin Hart-Ice Cube cop comedy Ride Along 2 has also released its third trailer, whilst the international trailer for Zoolander 2 has also popped up online.
