News: Indiana Jones & the hunt for the young Han Solo

Although the world is still trying to forget the drab Shia LaBeouf starring The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, There’s be an awful lot of talk this year about another Indiana Jones adventure heading our way sometime in the future.

With Harrison Ford now firmly in his golden years, rumours have circulated that some young up-and-comer by the name of Chris Pratt may take over the mantle of cinema’s most famous archaeologist.

Steven Spielberg – the director of all four earlier Indy movies – has, thankfully, quashed such talk – stating, to his mind, only one man will ever play the great adventurer.

He said: “It’s certainly not my intention to ever have another actor step into his shoes in the way there have been many actors that have played Spider-Man or Batman.

“There is only going to be one actor playing Indiana Jones and that’s Harrison Ford.”

Staying with Mr. Ford, reportedly over 2500 actors have auditioned for the part of a young Han Solo for the Phil Lord-Chris Miller helmed Star Wars anthology film that’s set to fly into our galaxy in May 2018.

Talk of the town is many well-known actors, including Whiplash’s Miles Teller, The Fault in Our Stars’ Angsel Elgort, and even James Franco’s kid bro, Dave Franco, have all auditioned for the part in what some are supposedly calling ‘the widest casting search ever’.

The plot is firmly under wraps, but the movie is going by the code name ‘Red Cup’ – and the script is being written by Star Wars scribe Lawrence Kasdan and his son, Jon.

Who do you fancy as a young Han?
