Film News: Christopher Nolan, Divergent Series & King Kong

Christopher Nolan will release his next film in 2017. Warner Bros. have added the currently unnamed flick to their 2017 roster. Nolan has apparently finished the screenplay, but other than a release date no other details have been revealed. The final entry of the Divergent series has had a change of name. Split into two films and adapted from Veronica Roth’s third novel in her young adult series, Allegiant, the fourth and final film will now be called The Divergent Series: Ascendant. (Source: Empire)

Warner Bros. are reportedly in talks with Legendary to bring King Kong under their wing, making a future clash with Godzilla increasingly likely. Any future match-up between the pair would be the first time it’s hit our screens since 1962’s King Kong vs. Godzilla. Kong: Skull Island is set to be released in 2017, with a sequel to Gareth Edward’s successful 2014 Godzilla expected the year after. (Source: Deadline)
