News: Eddie Redmayne, Sofia Coppola & Sister Act

Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne has officially signed on to play Newt Scamander in the highly anticipated Harry IMG_0091Spotter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.  J.K. Rowling has penned the script and David Yates will direct. The release date is set for 18th November 2016.  (Source: Empire)

Lost in Translation director Sophia Coppola has quit Universal’s proposed live action remake of The Little Mermaid over apparent ‘creative differences’. The film is still set to be made, but no announcement over a new director, or any casting decisions, have been made yet. (Source: Den of Geek)

Sister Act is the latest family classic Disney are set to give the remake treatment. No news on casting or on a release date yet, but Kirsten “Kiwi” Smith and Karen McCullah have been tasked with writing the script. (Source: Sky)
